Most
individuals have not protected themselves or their
families from catastrophic occurrences that have the
potential to leave them in a vegetative state.
Catastrophic events often bankrupt estates and lead to
destitution for those left behind. While the choice is
obviously one of individual preference most
would not like to be kept alive or at the mercy of the
courts when death is eminent and life is supported
only by artificial means.
Most estates can not withstand even a $1,000.00 a day
year after year and insurance companies have been
known to abandon financial responsibility. The Partnership
For Caring is a non-profit organization that
provides free Living Wills also known as Advance
Directives and Medical Powers of Attorney that are
state specific forms that may be used to protect your
desires and right to die in the event you are the
victim of a catastrophic event.
